Topic Ideas For A Rhetoric Essay

Topic Ideas For A Rhetoric EssayThere are several topic ideas for a rhetoric essay. One of the best topic ideas for a rhetorical essay is the idea of the homogeneous concept. The concept of the homogeneous concept can be taken from the idea of the family.Let's take the family as an example. How many members does the family have? How many children do they have? What is the average age of those in the family? All of these questions are part of the topic of the homogeneous concept.Different families come with different numbers of members, ages, and genders. Each of these groups has its own set of values. The concept of the homogeneous concept is simply the set of rules that members of the family to follow. Now, we must consider that the homogeneous concept is not the subject's objectivity. In fact, the subject is always the focus of the essay. It is the subject that informs the text.Let's take the topic of religion as an example. Religion is a homogeneous concept. It is the subject of ma ny essays. By definition, religion is the values that people hold, what rules people follow, what they believe, and where they follow it.Because religion is a homogeneous concept, a rhetorical essay on religion should be about the audience. It should not include the subject. In fact, it should not discuss religion. The topic should be the subject. It should not be an essay on the idea of religion. The text should be all about the audience. This essay is not about the subject, it is about the audience. Now, there is one more important thing to remember about the subject of a text. Remember that the subject is the focus. A rhetoric essay on subjects such as personality and history will never focus on the subject of the text.

Poetry of Protest An Exploration of Christina Rossetti and Gerard Manley Hopkins - Literature Essay Samples

It is not difficult to see the parallels in the lives and works of Christina Rossetti and Gerard Manley Hopkins. Both poets suffered bouts of depression, both were involved in the Tractarian movement – with Hopkins converting to Roman Catholicism and Rossetti remaining High Anglican and both used their medium to fuse religiosity with personal struggles. Nevertheless, these similarities within a shared poetic genre, which is often considered to uphold â€Å"a uniform world-view or ideological focus†[i], make potential differences between the poets all the more distinct. While Rossetti favours protest through subtext and silence, Hopkins externalises his fiery emotions onto a poetic landscape. The extent to which both poets display protest in their works can be explored through how their poetry challenges gender norms of the era, the poetic form itself, and how this interacted with their religious convictions. While Rossetti was certainly ambivalence towards contemporary issues such as women’s rights, her religious vocabulary acts as a tool for agency, particularly in critiquing the dynamics of male female relations. Likewise, although Hopkins protests against established poetic rules in his experimentation with form and metre, his poetry conforms to rigid structures arguably for an almost curative effect. An initial way of assessing the extent to which Rossetti and Hopkins write poems of protest, is through exploring how their work responds to societal norms, in particular gender roles. While she claimed to not be one for â€Å"politics and philanthropy†[ii] and her views on issues such as female suffrage were conflicted, Rossetti’s poetry excels at is the critique of power dynamics in personal relationships between men and women, often through reference to religion. The narrator of Twice, for example, is shown to find agency from her unrequited lover through newfound faith. The poem demonstrates one of Rossetti’s commo n motifs of hearts acting as almost literalised metaphors, with second stanza beginning â€Å"you took my heart in your hand†. This display of vulnerability makes the line â€Å"as you set it down it broke† all the more vivid. The first few stanzas imply that the narrator’s sense of sense is intrinsically tied with how her potential lover views her, as she is dependent on his attention and continues to â€Å"smile† in spite of her emotional turmoil. This turmoil and anger is only hinted at (â€Å"Broke, but I did not wince†), and is ultimately left unexpressed within the poem – Rossetti restricts the reader mainly to visual metaphor. Rather, the narrator gains agency over the situation through appeal to God who is shown to take her heart and â€Å"refine with fire its gold†, giving her the willpower to â€Å"live†: the shift from romantic to spiritual reflected in a shift from past to present tense. Rossetti shows that through devotion it is possible to gain a sense of self separate from the male gaze. Nevertheless, the question remains as to whether the narrator of Twice has simply moved from one patriarchal male figure to another in the form of God, as the poem arguably ends on a tone of repression: â€Å"but shall not question much†. This was a concern that plagued a lot of early feminist critique of her works that stressed that her faith restricted her artistic potential; Virginia Woolf went as far to say that â€Å"if I were to bring a case against God, she would be one of the first witnesses I should call.†[iii] Yet the poem is indicative of two common messages within Rossetti’s poetry, firstly that defiance against controlling male figures can be achieved through devotion to God, and secondly that this defiance can be shown best in what is left unspoken or is hinted at. Silence as a form of protest may appear contradictory but pervades much of her poetry, including her non-devo tional works. For example, in her seminal piece Goblin Market the character Lizzie survives the wrath of Goblin Men through her closed lips: â€Å"Lizzie utter’d not a word†. Within many of the poems themselves there is an unspoken subtext, as is evident in her famous work Remember with the line â€Å"you told me of our future that you planned†, hinting at an unequal power dynamic between men and women through the use of the second person pronoun â€Å"you† dominating the first person â€Å"our† suggesting the narrator’s future is constricted and defined by her male lover, ironic for a poem that is often read at funerals for its reflections on romantic love. To criticise Rossetti’s poetry for its silence and ambiguity is to misunderstand her philosophy, her critiques may be hidden within the language – or lack of it of the poem itself. Indeed, the final line of Twice is qualified with the adverb â€Å"much†, suggesting the narrator has not completely committed herself to a life without questions. In contrast to Rossetti’s protestation through silence, Hopkins’s inner turmoil explodes onto the pages of his poetry, for example in his piece Carrion Comfort, â€Å"Despair† actually becomes a source of meagre sustenance as the title suggests. Here the narrator externalises his emotions onto the world around him helping him to deal with a crisis of faith. He laments â€Å"cry I can no more, I can; can something, hope, wish day to come, not choose not to be.† The repetition of the word â€Å"can† in different contexts, being used in a negative, positive and hypothetical way, suggests the fluctuating nature of language resembles his fluctuating emotions. Perhaps through the process of writing the poem itself, Hopkins is able to process his internal conflict through language and build some sort of resilience to it. Unlike Rossetti who is inclined to silence, Hopkins artic ulately and protests against his own thought processes. Akin to the healing of the narrator of Twice, this is achieved through relationship with God but unlike Rossetti’s poem this relationship is in a state of conflict, as the narrator claims â€Å"I wretch lay wrestling with (my God!) my god†. This conflict is also reflected in Hopkins’ use of sprung rhythm, contrasting with the typically rigid metric rules of the Petrarchan sonnet. The breaking of metric norms has been linked by some critics to Hopkins’s own biography including his conversion to Roman Catholicism – an act which in itself was a form of protest at a time when â€Å"Catholic ritual and devotions were treated as strange practices, but also bad art†[iv]. By putting himself in a marginalised position Hopkins’s writes from a minority viewpoint, constructing a poetic identity through his metric non-conventionality; arguably it is this rejection of poetic practices that saw the revival of interest in his poetry during the experimentation of early modernism. However perhaps it is paradoxical to call Hopkins’s poetry which is so often self-deprecating, a form of protest: in many ways, he conforms to strict religious orthodoxy and obedience through his asceticism. For example, even a poem that acts mainly as an appraisal of God such as Thee God, I Come From references are made to repentance such as â€Å"spare thou me† and â€Å"I sinned / I repent of what I did†. Some critics such as Julia F Saville argue that Hopkins’s asceticism is an outlet for his struggles with his sexuality, using his relationship with young poet Digby Mackworth Dolben as distinct evidence of his love for men. After a meeting with Digby, Hopkins’s diary follows: â€Å"No pudding on Sundays. No tea except if to keep me awake and then without sugar. Meat only once a day.†[v] This homoerotic subtext is displayed in the poem I wake and feel wh ereby the lamentation of letters meant for â€Å"dearest him† is merged alongside a perversion of the Eucharist imagery: â€Å"bitter would have me taste: my taste was me†. Taking this approach, the link between the self-flagellating aesthetic of Hopkins’s poetry and his homosexual desires cannot be overstated. Saville goes as far as to argue that sprung rhythm itself â€Å"is an effect of â€Å"Hopkins poetics of homoerotic asceticism.†[vi] In this context Hopkins’s defies the societal roles of an anti-Catholic, heteronormative society, forming a minority identity in his religion and queerness that is expressed in the language and rhythm of his poems, writing before a concept of gay identity had even been formed. Arguably the rejection of norms by Rossetti and Hopkins is reflected in the form of their poetry itself, in particular their use of the sonnet. This is seen most clearly by Rossetti in Monna Innominata which deals with the relationship b etween artist and muse through exploring the dynamic between Dante and Beatrice and Petrarch and Laura. The structure of the individual sonnets remains regular, strictly following Petrarchan form, however taken together as a â€Å"macro sonnet† the fourteen poems work as a parody of the tradition. The effect of this parody is what critic Anthony Harrison calls â€Å"liberating the muse†[vii]. This is shown through the provision of a voice to Beatrice and Laura, challenging the typical subject matter of sonnets written for centuries – mainly by men. In the final stanza, the muse is laments that with herâ€Å"youth and beauty gone† all that remains is â€Å"A silent heart whose silence loves and longs; The silence of a heart which sang its songs† Again, Rossetti uses the motif of silence to protest ideas of male female relations, here the treatment of the muse is challenged for its superficiality which results in a heart that â€Å"sang its songs†. Ironically, while much of her work thrives off of a musical aesthetic, perhaps the reason Rossetti uses silence so frequently is to protest against the limitations of the poetic form. This is seen in works such as Echo, where the narrator attempts to recreate her lover through poetic memory. These attempts prove to be futile resulting in only â€Å"the speaking silence of a dream†; the oxymoronic suggestion being that while poetic form can imitate it is unable to fully replicate. Likewise, in Memory the narrator claims life â€Å"centres† around â€Å"a blessed memory on a throne† – an imitation of reality which remains insufficient until the prospect of actual Paradise occurs. To Rossetti, Paradise is ultimately only achievable after a period of â€Å"Soul-sleep†, an Adventist doctrine that argued that upon death the soul enters a period of rest until The Last Judgement; arguably her poems are not solely of protest but represent what Jerome McGann calls a â€Å"strategic withdrawal†[viii] from the world. Indeed in a poem such as From The Antique seasons become repetitive and cyclical, â€Å"still the seasons come and go†, yet rather than obtaining agency the disengaged female narrator simply laments â€Å"I wish and I wish I were a man†. While her poetry does challenge societal norms, the pervading sense of melancholy and weariness within much of her work arguably centres on a view of the material world as superficial in the face of the afterlife. Despite her experiments with form, Rossetti was seen by many writers of the early 20th century as a poet who lacked intellectual rigour, with critic Stuart Curran arguing that she â€Å"falls back on pretty language, the bane of so many female poets.â € [ix] In rejection of this simplistic assessment, arguably Rossetti exhibits experimentation not only with her language but with the limitations of the ‘poem’ itself. In contrast to her reception, Hopkin’s experimentation with sonnet form was considered revolutionary by many modernists, for example F.R. Leavis proclaimed he was â€Å"one of the most remarkable technical innovators who ever wrote†[x]. Perhaps most notable is his invention of the curtal sonnet which attempts to make the form even more succinct. This is evidenced in Pied Beauty, a poem that through its form attempts to muster the â€Å"glory† of God, through an almost pantheistic approach to the natural world, within a neat package of 11 lines. Nevertheless, for a poet that was hailed by some modernists as a â€Å"contemporary†[xi] born into the wrong era, arguably the choice of sonnet form has a restrictive effect on his poetry, indeed the curtal sonnet has been noticed for its interest in precise mathematical proportions[xii]. Arguably the use of such rigid forms allows Hopkins to construct meaning onto to a world plagued by his own depression, arguably using poetic form for its curative properties rather than an attempt to protest the nature of poetry itself. Even in his poems that do not adhere to sonnet form such as That Nature is a Heraclitean Fire and of the Resurrection, the use of such specific rhythms and metric beats highlights a search for order within a firey world of â€Å"torn tufts† and â€Å"tossed pillows†. This is not to suggest that Hopkins’ was not an innovator, but rather that his work did not exist on a plane that was epochs ahead of Rossetti – both tested the boundaries of poetry albeit through alternative means. As critic Jill Muller argues, Hopkins was a â€Å"conservative revolutionary†[xiii] and arguably the same can be said for Rossetti. Hopkins and Rossetti use poetry as a way to fuse the ir alienation from societal expectations with their devout religiosity, in the former this results in a form of homoerotic asceticism while the latter critiques the power dynamics between men and women. In Rossetti’s works, language, and crucially the absence of language, is used as a way of experimenting with established forms such as the Petrarchan sonnet, advocating a form of protestation through silence. In contrast Hopkins experiments with the alteration of these forms themselves, to project structure onto a world plagued by his emotional turmoil. While Rossetti can be accused of withdrawing from the world due to her faith, Hopkins arguably creates his own solipsistic world. Nevertheless, both poets illustrate how religious poetry is not inherently static but rather provides a viable outlet for subverting both societal expectations and the poetic form itself. Ratification The People Debate - 1728 Words

In a classic sense of history being written by winners, the United States Constitution and its ratification process is usually presented as a unifying document establishing a system of government that most efficiently ensures the states’ newly won independence. Those who opposed ratification of the Constitution were seen as against a strong federal governmental power and obstructive in their opposition. In her book, Ratification: The People debate the Constitution, 1787-1788, Pauline Maier examined the often-tempestuous state-level debates over the ratification of the U.S. Constitution and found there was a legitimate concern for the new federal government to be as powerful as proposed in the Constitution and that many prominent, and not so prominent, men within the states’ legislatures, taverns, and coffee houses voiced vehement opposition to the Constitution’s ratification. As an historian and prolific writer, Maier dedicated her professional life to the stu dy and teaching of late colonial and revolutionary America. She initially wanted to be a journalist but realized her life’s passion after taking a â€Å"Colonial and Revolutionary America† seminar as a doctoral student at Harvard University. Maier went on to teach at the University of Massachusetts, the University of Wisconsin, and finally as the William Kenan Jr., Professor of History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she taught for three decades. Leonardo Da Vinci biographical notes Essay Example For Students

Leonardo Da Vinci biographical notes Essay I Leonardo, or Lionardo as he is generally called by earlier Florentine writers, was born in 1452 in the neighbourhood of the little mountain village of Vinci, a few miles from Empoli. His father, whose name was Piero d Antonio, followed the profession of his sire and grandsire, that of notary, though he does not seem to have held any office up to the time when his firstborn son came into the world. He was then barely more than a youth, twenty-five years of age, residing in his ancestral home at Vinci. Leonardos mother was a woman by the name of Catarina, of whom we know nothing except that she was di bon sangue. She seems to have had little opportunity to influence her son s development for, the grandfather disapproving of the young Piero s liaison as unworthy of his rank, Catarina, soon after the birth of the boy, was married to a peasant at Vinci, while Ser Piero, in his turn, wedded a lady of noble birth, Albiera Amadori. The little Leonardo was received into his fathers home, which was probably the same house where the family had lived for generations. Whether this was identical with the plain stone building on the slope between Vinci and Anchiano which an inscription plate designates as the house where Leonardo was born, I will leave to thers to determine. In any case, the district is that in which Leonardo passed his childhood. A beautiful and fertile district it is indeed, situated half-way up the slope of Monte Albano. As far as the gaze reaches, the silver-gray olives spread their soft carpet over the hills, and between them the vines gleam forth when autumn is approaching and the grapes are taking on a blue tinge. Long, undulating contours bound the horizon as though the district had been modelled by some mighty artists hand, solemn and monumental yet without a trace of bleakness. Eound the thinly scattered houses stand orange and fig trees, bowed down with fruit, and corn  to be harvested in abundance. The air is pure and fresh up there even in late summer and the people are cheerful and straightforward. They lead a simple, strenuous life, in constant co-operation with the bounteous nature in the midst of which they live, but to this day there dwell in their memories strange legends which have doubtless fascinated many an imaginative boy. Such were the surroundings in which the little Leonardo grew up. The beauty of the soil and the light of the lofty skies were probably sources of greater delight to him than the human beings with whom he was thrown in contact. His stepmother died early and was succeeded by another who was even less capable of cherishing interest for the illegitimate child. He found little happiness at home, and, according to tradition, resorted for companionship to his grandfather, his nonno. In the course of the fathers third and fourth marriages the family circle (now removed to Florence) rapidly increased, making life at home almost unendurable to Leonardo. His step-brothers and sisters and even his father seem always to have regarded him as the illegitimate one, a kind of intruder, against whom they might freely vent their petty spite and bitterness. In fact, later on they did not even hesitate to bring an action against the famous artist for venturing to accept a small inheritance from his uncle. These impressions of childhood cannot fail to have influenced Leonardo s future development. His mind was more sensitive, more impressionable, than that of the majority, and he was destined from early years to experience more suffering than joy from contact with the outer world. He gradually learned to retire more and more within himself in order to escape being wounded and abused. The warm affection, the tender cherishing solicitude which may help a sensitive child-soul to unfold, did not fall to the lot of the little Leonardo. In the year 1469 we find the family settled in Florence, where Ser Piero had become procuratore to the monastery of SS. Annunziata and notary to the Florentine Signoria (the city magistracy). His reputation as a lawyer increased rapidly and his income kept pace with it. In course of time Ser Piero became one of the most fashionable lawyers of Florence. He gave his children the usual education, and Leonardo, with the others, was sent to the scuola  delPabbaco, the primary grammar school, where the instruction, intended as a preparation for the mercantile profession, consisted chiefly of a course in arithmetic, while the humanities and classical languages were almost neglected. Perhaps for this reason Leonardo appears never to have devoted himself with any great interest to the study of the ancient writers or their modern imitators ; on the contrary, he seems to have carried away a certain contempt for booklearning. Observation and experience were his real teachers, and it is almost with an undercurrent of satisfaction that he thenceforward styled himself uomo senza lettered Yet he was less the mere empiric than he supposed. The city in which the young Leonardos lot was now cast, and where he received his artistic training, was in many respects a contrast to the quiet, lonely region in which he had passed his childhood. Florence was already at that time a city of stone, with narrow winding streets where footsteps echo hard and sharp between the obtrusive palace walls, and where only the walls and the roofs afford shade. Life here was bound to assume something of the uncompromising hardness and angularity of the stones, especially when we reflect that in democratic Florence everyone was his own master, and that each man had to look to his own fist and sharp tongue to vindicate his rights. Leonardo da Vinci and Renaissance EssayBut Leonardo evidently did not approve of all that he saw and heard in the studio. Even in his later Milanese period, when writing down his precepts for painting, he takes his stand against certain theories enunciated by Botticelli, and in more than one instance he maintains an opinion in the face of the latter. There is reason to believe that the discussions which took place in the humble workshop in the Via dellAgnolo were often rather heated. At the age of twenty he became a member of the Compania di San Luca. His name occurs in the account book of this Society of Artists, the so-called Libro Eosso (in the National Library at Florence), for the year 1472, with an entry indicating that he had neglected to pay his members fee. The fact is worth noting, particularly as it shows that the pronounced religious character of the Society did not deter Leonardo from applying for membership. Leonardo plainly was not one of those who were influenced by the religious fanaticism which at that time was excited in so many sensitive minds by the passionate preacher of San Marco. Leonardo clear intellect, sane judgment, and habitual balance of mind preserved him from those violent plunges which occur in the lives of Botticelli, Fra Bartolommeo, and the young Michelangelo, not to speak of several minor artists who, for longer or shorter periods, were numbered among Savonarolas adherents. Leonardos independent attitude toward all kinds of pietistic and dogmatic religious zeal is illustrated by the following lines from the Treatise on Painting: On such as abuse those who draw on Holy days and examine the works of God. . . . Fools, deceiving themselves and others, are those who blame the painters for studying on Holy days such things as appertain to the true knowledge of nature. . . . These fault-finders should rather keep silence, for it is by such study that one learns to know the master-artificer of so many marvellous things; this is the way to learn to love the great Inventor. . . . Great love comes only from knowledge of things ; without knowledge true love is impossible. While Leonardo was working in Verrocchios studio, accusations of sodomy were levelled against him. There existed at this time in Florence an institution called Uffiziali di notte e dei monasteri, whose mission was to look after the morals of the community and of the religious societies in particular. As an aid in this purpose they had, among other devices, set up on the Palazzo della Signoria a  kind of letter-boxes called tamburini, in which anyone could drop anonymous accusations (tamburationi) without the slightest responsibility or obligation to bring forward evidence in support of theaccusation. On the 8th of April, 1476, Leonardos name occurs, together with those of some other artists, in one of these tamburationi. They were all accused of sodomy. However, upon trial they were acquitted on condition that they should appear at a fresh trial in case the accusation were renewed. This actually happened two months later, but the new hearing yielded quite as meagre result. There is thus no means of ascertaining whether any truth lay at the bottom of this anonymous indictment. The majority of critics leans to the belief that the accusation was simply an exhibition of envy and spite against Leonardo who was beginning to be a recognized force in the world of art. Vasaris statements that Leonardo in his youth devoted himself particularly to sculpture, and executed busts of smiling women s and boys heads have not yet been confirmed by historical investigation. Have all these busts been lost, or are they hiding behind anonymous works of the school of Verrocchio and Desiderio? The question might well repay more thorough special research than has hitherto been accorded to it. This subject will receive further comment in connection with the discussion of the work executed by Leonardo in Verrocchio s bottega. The project for making the Arno navigable from Florence to Pisa, which Vasari mentioned in the passage cited above, was put forward by Leonardo quite seriously, though not till his return to Florence in 1500. From early youth his interest was manifest in the construction of waterways and in the utilization of water-power for industrial purposes, and this side of his activity was perhaps appreciated more than any other by his own generation. In fact, Leonardos inventive powers and extraordinary mechanical skill seem to have been most instrumental in investing him with that halo of halfsupernatural ability which so dazzled his contemporaries.

Religious Essays - Religion And Politics, Freedom Of Religion

Religious Equality In US America has been named the "melting pot" of the world. It houses many different cultures, nationalities, ideas and religions. There are Christians, Jews, Catholics, Buddhists, Mormons, Hindus, Spiritualists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Islamics, plus many more. America is unique in that all these religions are represented in a nation that is only 200 years old. And America has upheld, throughout history, that the freedom and equality of religion is extremely important in order for this nation to function as a free nation. The foundations of America were set as a result of England's persecution; more specifically, England's religious persecution. The colonists wanted to create a nation that allowed people to be free. They desired to speak what they wanted to speak, do what they wanted to do, and practice what they wanted to practice... without the government watching their every move. Thus came religious freedom. The First Amendment to the Constitution states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," meaning that an American citizen would be able to practice his or her religion without any intervention or persecution from the government, be it Islam, Judism, Mormonism or Catholicism. Yet, with religious freedom, comes important questions concerning its existence. Is religious equality just as important as all the other freedoms... such as the freedom of speech, the freedom of press, the freedom to assemble, and others as well? The answer here is yes. If this nation truly stands for freedom, the American government cannot say that its citizens have the right to speak freely, write freely, or assemble freely, but then maintain an established national religion. That would be contradictory, and would not make America any better off than England, which it had separated from just years beforehand. Certainly, all the freedoms are equal. On the other hand, unlike the other freedoms mentioned, religious freedom addresses a different type of need. It addresses the concept of personal fulfillment, or perhaps, self-realization. Religion attempts to give answers to basic questions: From where did the world come? What is the meaning of human life? Why do people die and what happens afterward? Why is there evil? How should people behave? As a word religion is difficult to define, but as a human experience it seems to be universal. The 20th-century German-born American theologian, Paul Tillich, gave a simple and basic definition of the word: "Religion is ultimate concern." This means that religion includes that to which people are most devoted or that from which they expect to get the most satisfaction in life. Consequently, religion provides adequate answers to the basic afore mentioned questions. Religion is, undoubtedly, a very important part of life. The second question regarding freedom of religion discusses which aspect of religion should be considered equal: the structure or substantive content of religion, or the individual conscience of that religion. Because of the diversity and impact that religion has in the lives of Americans, the individual conscience should be treated as equal, not the structure or substantive content of the various religions. No two religions are alike, just as no two people are alike. The government cannot make all religions equal in regards to their individual structure and/or practices because the individual practices are what make each religion unique; appealing to the individual conscience. If all religions had to be equal in practice, we would have Buddhists saying "Hail Mary's," or Christians bowing to Allah. Perhaps Catholics would wear orange robes and have shaved heads, and Hare Krishna's could sing music out of the Protestant Psalter Hymnal. This would defeat the whole purpose of allowing freedom of religion in the first place. Religion must be able to differ in structure and substantive content. People must be able to practice their own religion in the way they want to... and this cannot happen if all religions in America are made equal in structure and practice. The individual conscience in a certain religion, however, must be treated the same as any other religion. A Christian conscience must be treated the same as that of a Buddhist conscience. A Catholic conscience must be treated the same as that of a Mormon conscience, and so on. One cannot discriminate against a religion if all religions are indeed seen as equal in regards to the individual conscience. It would be like discriminating against someone because they do not like coffee with their breakfast. If one decides that they would rather have orange juice with their bacon and eggs, that is up to them. It is their choice. And

Global Warming Satire Essays

Global Warming Satire Essays Global Warming Satire Paper Global Warming Satire Paper Essay Topic: Global Warming With countless hours of having scientists research global warming it is apparent that global warming is not a problem at all. In fact everybody needs to see the clear fact that global warming is helping humanity in many numerous ways. The environment warming up, the ocean levels rising, and the increase in carbon dioxide are all benefits to the environment, economy, and society in general. As the world warms up people will not have to heat their house. This is beneficial in numerous aspects. Not only will this save homeowners and businesses money it will also use less natural gas, which can be saved for other things. Also, power plants will not have to produce as much electricity. This will reduce the amount of fossil fuels consumed by power plants, since the majority or power plants burn coal to produce electricity. With the temperatures on the rise, the icebergs and polar ice caps will be melting. This is but a miraculous thing. For one the coastline will go inland a couple hundred miles. Thus people who have property along the new coast ill have an increase in property value, due to their property now being beachfront property. Also fruits that thrive close to the coastline, such as citrus fruits, would flourish close to the new coastline, bringing fruits closer to other places and reducing the cost of shipping the fruits. This would reduce the amount of impoverished countries around the world. Not to mention, with no more icebergs or polar ice caps, naval passage with be much easier. Captains will not have to worry about running into any icebergs, and recreating another titanic experience. : As the carbon dioxide levels in the air increase, plant growth would also show an increase. Since plant growth will be on the rise the price on fruits and vegetables will decrease, also producing enough food to help end world hunger. With plant growth on the rise the plant industry will fully benefit. Everybody yard will flourish and look extravagant, relieving the stress of having to worry about how your yard looks, ultimately saving families thousands of money so that they dont have to maintain their yard. Global warming should be looked upon as a blessing rather than a ruder. It is time for humankind to stop degrading global warming and start praising it. Global warming obviously has more positive outcomes than the negative ones. With property values increasing, plant growth increasing, food prices decreasing and world hunger diminishing why would anyone complain about global warming? Who wouldnt want global warming? Its a magnificent event that we should all be looking forward to. (Especially 34 generations down the line. Theyll receive the most outcomes out of it. Lucky them. )
